Kapiti Dance Centre aims to provide you with top class tuition in all dance styles—given by fully qualified teachers
with excellent experience.
Students are encouraged to try new things and, although every opportunity is given for high achievement in exams and performance,
they are not pressured to be ‘the best’ … they can just dance for enjoyment. Class sizes are small in order
to allow more personalised tuition.
All students have the opportunity to perform on stage in our annual concert—held mid-year to avoid the Christmas
rush. They can also take part in exams, medal tests and competitions.
Ballet training is based on the Royal Academy of Dance programme and Jazz classes on the Jazz Dance NZ syllabus.
The studio is upstairs at 345 Kapiti Road and is fully equipped. Dancewear is sold at reasonable prices to students.
The principal, Alison Pond, holds top qualifications including the Advanced Teaching Diploma and is also an examiner for
the Royal Academy of Dance.
Alison is assisted by nationally renowned choreographer Sally Stopforth and Sarsha Forbes who is also fully trained in
both RAD Ballet and JDNZ styles.
